SatZones - SatZones - Identifikácia výnosových zón na poľnohospodárskych pozemkoch s využitím satelitných údajov
SatZones - Satellite-based delineation of yield productivity zones for Slovak crop fields
Program: European Space Agency (ESA)
Project leader: Mgr. Kenderessy Pavol, PhD.
Annotation: The delineation of "quasi homogenous" management zones is the basis of the precision agriculture (PA) practices, addressing the within-field variability of crop status and crop yield. Many ground-based methods exist for the delineation of management zones, though, due to the complexity and costs, they are not commonly applied in Slovak agricultural sector. On the other hand, cost-effective satellite-based approaches for identifying so-called yield productivity zones have been recently introduced. Yield productivity zones represent highly productive, respectively less productive zones within field parcels. In particular, the time-series approaches using satellite-based vegetation indices with relevant spatial and temporal resolutions (e.g. Sentinel2 or Landsat products) may identify stable recurring crop status patterns, resulting in identifying yield productivity zones. Though many services exist based on a user request basis, a "broad-scale full coverage" delivery of yield productivity zones in an automated manner is still rare. We aim to develop such a system to enhance satellite-based (later referred as EO based) agricultural services for "literally" 61 000 field parcels, a substantial number of Slovak farmers, and finally for the all ”digital farming” industry. The main technical objective of the project is development of the automated processor for creation of yield productivity zones at broader scale. Furthermore, EO-based service for farmers based on this processor will be designed. The end goal of the proposal is enhancement of the EO-based services for agriculture and precision farming.

SENSECO - Optické synergie pre priestorovo-časové snímanie škálovateľných ekofyziologických znakov
Optical synergies for spatiotemporal sensing of scalable ecophysiological traits
Program: COST
Project leader: Mgr. Halabuk Andrej, PhD.
Annotation: Timely information about the landscape and vegetation significantly determine the quality of decision making in agriculture and forestry sector. Furthermore, spatio-temporal modelling of response and adaptability of agro-ecosystems to climate change and weather extremes supported by remote sensing is high on the agenda because of its significant social impact at national, European and international level. An integrated approach involving various scientific disciplines is crucial for this kind of research. Based on the newly built laboratories (laboratory of field measurements, laboratory of UAV and Earth Observation) Institute of Landscape Ecology (ILE SAS) is focused on the development of innovative remote sensing algorithms and spatio-temporal modelling of status of agro-ecosystems and vegetation at different scales (from plot level through the farm level, region level to the entire territory of Slovakia). Its development has been especially pronounced after the availability of new optical satellite data with better spectral and temporal resolution (Landsat 8, MODIS, Proba-V, Sentinel 2 and Sentinel3) that allow timely nationwide indicators of the condition of vegetation and land surface. ILE SAS has a great tradition of applied remote sensing in relation to assessment of vegetation response to climate change. ILE SAS has the ambition of enhancing research on this topic, based on historical research in applied remote sensing and GIS in vegetation ecology, ecosystem research and spatio-temporal modelling of vegetation. Within the proposed COST action ILE SAS will be mainly focused in development of standardized operating procedures and quality assurance methodologies based on short term missions within WG1 and inter-comparison exercises in WG2 both at field sites and in referenced laboratories in order to close the both scaling gap (WG1) and temporal gap (WG2).

Syntéza štúdií vplyvu inštitucionálnych zmien a zmien krajinnej pokrývky a využitia krajiny na uhlík, biodiverzitu a poľnohospodárstvo po rozpade Sovietskeho Zväzu
Synthesis of Studies on Institutional Change and LCLUC Effects on Carbon, Biodiversity, and Agriculture After the Collapse of the Soviet Union
Program: Multilateral - other
Project leader: RNDr. Halada Ľuboš, CSc.
Annotation: Major institutional changes occurred throughout Eastern Europe and European Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, and the expansion of the EU in 2004 and \'07, resulting resulted in substantial land cover and land use change. NASA-funded case studies led by members of our proposal team have highlighted the magnitude of these land changes. However, these case studies have not been synthesized, and we lack comprehensive datasets of land change, analysis of its economic and institutional drivers, and assessments of its environmental effects. Our first goal is to utilize recent advances in remote sensing science to a) map wall-to-wall decadal land change from Landsat data across Eastern Europe and European Russia, and b) conduct in-depth analyses of higher temporal resolution land change for dense time stacks of selected footprints. Our prior case studies highlighted that land changes were highly heterogeneous in space suggesting that economies and institutions were important drivers of land change. However, how economic, policy, and institutional changes - and their legacies – affected land change is not clear. Our second goal is to understand the economic, policy and institutional drivers of land change across Eastern Europe and European Russia. Similarly, case studies by our team and others provide strong evidence for substantial effects of land change on agriculture, forestry, carbon pools and fluxes, and biodiversity. The additional remote sensing analyses outlined above would allow us to take the research on these effects to a new level, and make comprehensive assessments across Eastern Europe. Our third goal is to assess the effects of land change on agriculture, forestry, carbon, and biodiversity across Eastern Europe and European Russia. The main outcome will be a synthesis of prior research on land change in Eastern Europe. Our prior research puts us in a unique position to provide three important outcomes: a) consistent maps of land change across Eastern Europe; b) analyses of the policy, economic and institutional drivers of the land changes that occurred; and c) assessments of land change effects on agriculture, forestry, carbon, and biodiversity. Land use is the principal driver of global environmental change. Twenty years after the Soviet Union, and ten years after the start of NEESPI and of numerous research projects in the region, we now have a unique opportunity to synthesize findings and extract more general patterns. We propose to conduct such a synthesis and make a major contribution to our understanding of human-natural systems, and land use science.

SENSFOR - Zvýšenie kapacity reziliencie citlivých horských lesných ekosystémov pri environmentálnych zmenách (SENSFOR)
Enhancing the resilience capacity of SENSitive mountain FORest ecosystems under environmental change (SENSFOR)
Program: COST
Project leader: Mgr. Kollár Jozef, PhD.
Annotation: Treeline ecosystems are important indicators of environmental change, because they are heavily impacted by environmental drivers, in particular changed climate and land use, resulting in land abandonment and reforestation of formerly treeless areas. With a focus on treeline ecosystems, this Action aims at integrating scientific methods and results related to the biodiversity conservation and sustainable use of natural resources under climate and land use change. The Action will investigate the drivers and extent of contemporary and future environmental changes in European mountain forests, developing methods for estimating their resilience and define consequences for society. This knowledge provides the scientific basis necessarily to develop and adjust management strategies together with local and regional stakeholders as well as policy recommendations for national and European policy makers. Applying the DPSIR (Drivers, Pressures, State, Impact, Response) framework, the joint actions of the SENSFOR network will contribute to the development of strategies for preserving ecosystem services and biodiversity conservation in sensitive mountain areas in Europe.

Exploring historical drivers of land use and environmental history and their impacts on biodiversity and ecosystem services in Europe (Back to future)
Program: Multilateral - other
Project leader: RNDr. Halada Ľuboš, CSc.
Annotation: The project aims in use of the knowledge of past conditions and assessment of changes for better understanding of the present environmental conditions. This historical perspective is helpful when predicting how the environment at a location may change in the future, given certain scenarios. Rather than addressing a single specific research question, the project is designed as and an umbrella project under which a set of sub-projects is running. Although these run separately, they share some features in common. They utilise historical sources of information dating back at least 20 years and compare these with present day information, in order to better understand such things as past environmental conditions, past human utilisation of land, rates of change in certain parameters, how the past explains present environmental observations. They involve one or more partners of the ALTER-Net network, bring together young and old generations of researchers, ‘natural’ and ‘social’ scientists and generate an output - either published paper or new datasets, accessible photographic resources and educational resources. Each sub-project team should produce a report describing the study and the results, and explaining how the results could be applied to (a) further studies of the site and (b) similar sites / habitats / landscapes.

Výskum a zachovanie biodiverzity v historických štruktúrach poľnohospodárskej krajiny Slovenska
Research and maintaining of biodiversity in historical structures of agricultural landscape of Slovakia
Program: Bilateral - other
Project leader: RNDr. Dobrovodská Marta, PhD.
Annotation: The historical structures of agricultural landscape (HSAL) represent mosaics of small-scale arable fields and permanent agricultural cultivations which were not affected by the process of agricultural collectivization. They have irreplaceable ecological, cultural and historical value. They are a result of a long term, mutual relationship between man and the landscape. As main sources of local biodiversity, they are linked mainly to balks, margins of cross fields tracks, original meadows and pastures and after collectivization abandoned grass-grown former arable fields. These areas are now becoming rare and thus highly valuable in the European space. Since these areas are not at present a subject of special protection, there’s a high risk that in the near future, due to abandonment and subsequent forest succession and urban pressure, their decline or even irreversible loss is probable. Our project aims to resolve this problem by carrying out a thorough inventory and typologization of HSAL on the territory of whole Slovakia, coupled with detailed interdisciplinary research (research of vegetation, animals, ecological conditions and human society) in 3 representative pilot areas (Svätý Jur town, Liptovská Teplička village Hriňová town) and implementation of an proposed Strategy for protection and management of HSAL in these territories as well.

Annotation: GLORIA, the "Global Observation Research Initiative in Alpine Environments", is an initiative towards an international research network to assess climate change impacts on mountain environments. A standardised sampling design, such as GLORIA\'s Multi-Summit approach described here, is required so that data from different mountain regions can be compared. The aim of the project “GLORIA Field campaign 2008” was to provide detailed and complex research on the established GLORIA summits and to compare the obtained data with the baseline data from the years 2000 and 2001, so to detect a possible change. The research was realised on the base of “GLORIA Field manual - Multi-summit approach” and “Guidelines for the GLORIA-Europe resurvey 2008 - Amendment to the GLORIA Field Manual, 4th version” Additionally, two new methodical approaches were realised. The first, “California method” is used for more detailed quantitative analysis and description of species composition on summit area sections. The second, “Atmospheric deposition of nitrogen oxides” was used for measuring of atmospheric nitrogen deposition during the recording period. The nitrogen dioxide passive diffusion tubes were used for this purpose.

Ekologické vzťahy v systéme hostiteľ-parazitoid
Ecological relationships in the system host-parasitoid
Program: VEGA
Project leader: RNDr. Gajdoš Peter, CSc.
Annotation: Study of the relationships between organisms is a basic prerequisite for understanding of evolution. Host-parasitoid interactions are an attractive area of research for evolutionary biologists. Only a small proportion of known parasitoid groups are associated with a dangerous host type. The exceptions are wasps from Polysphincta group (Hymenoptera). The project will evaluate ecological and behavioural data in both organism. The research will be studied under the conditions of forest ecotones, where the impact of ecological factors (altitude gradient, habitat type and woody species, exposure) on arachnid communities and their parasitoids will be evaluated. The impact of management (conventional vs organic farming) on arachnid communities and their parasitoids in orchards and viticultural landscape will be investigated. The host spectrum and parasitoid manipulation will be tested experimentally. New knowledge about their biology and ecology is expected to allow a better understanding of the evolution of interactions between these highly interconnected organisms.

Ekologické analýzy akulturácie krajiny Slovenska od mladšieho praveku dodnes
Ecological Analyses of Landscape Acculturation in Slovakia since Early Prehistory until Today
Program: VEGA
Project leader: Mgr. Piscová Veronika, PhD.
Annotation: Human impact on landscape of Slovakia is manifested more markedly since the Neolithic period (New StoneAge). Acculturation processes such as mutual adoption and merging different cultures and process of social andcultural changes accompany people throughout their history and reflect on the environment (Škvarna, 2007). Thehuman impact on the landscape may appear at first positive, but it may have a negative influence on the natureitself and finally on people as well (Erten, Van Deb Berg, Weissing 2007). For this reason, it is important toanalyze the impact of landscape changes on people and also on natural ecosystems. The aim of this project is toreconstruct the landscape in several periods of historical and archaeological past and to evaluate theconsequences of human activity in the model areas. An important role will be played by the confrontation of theevolution of settlement and vegetation changes in the territories in the same chronological sections.

Historické a súčasné zmeny krajinnej diverzity a biodiverzity vplyvom pôsobenia prírodných a antropogénnych faktorov
Historical and present changes in the landscape diversity and biodiversity caused by natural and anthropogenic factors
Program: VEGA
Project leader: RNDr. Barančok Peter, CSc.
Annotation: In the natural environment, there are constantly running processes that affect the character of the landscape or intensity of natural environmental factors and form the overall state of the environment. These processes naturally influence and change landscape diversity and biodiversity. Man intervenes into these natural procsses in a significant way and anthropogenic impacts on the landscape and biodiversity nowadays outweigh the impacts resulting from the natural development of the areas. The project focuses on the assessment of landscape and biodiversity changes in selected areas affected by the effects of natural and anthropogenic stress factors in a different time periods. Attention will be paid to the differentiation of landscape diversity and biodiversity changes that were caused by the natural development of the landscape, global factors impact and the influence of man in the country ? since the first settlement, through changes in the way and intensity of the landscape use.

Výskum biokultúrnych hodnôt krajiny
Research of biocultural values of landscape
Program: VEGA
Project leader: RNDr. Dobrovodská Marta, PhD.
Annotation: Recently is increasing interest in research that can define habitats and landscape created by human culture and can determine ways that society uses to shape up its natural environment and is also shaped up by it (UNESCO 2007). Also is increasing demand for ensuring diversity in every dimension of life and its inclusion to political agenda. This requires revision of current strategy of biodiversity protection, which often omits highly rated areas in manused landscape and mostly focuses on protection of natural landscape. New concept of “biocultural diversity”, which points to connection between biological and cultural dimension of landscape, their interactions, connections, common development, threats and correlation with social and economical development of society, allows this change. The goal of the pilot project is to bring new qualitative and quantitative findings during the evaluation of connection between biological and cultural diversity and to define new principles of its protection.

Program: VEGA
Project leader: Ing. Štefunková Dagmar, PhD.
Annotation: The cultural landscape is a testimony to the contemporary way of life and, at the same time, to the materialization of long-term impact of our ancestors in landscape, in the form of the historical cultural landscape. In addition to the material dimension, the historical cultural landscape also has an intangible socio-cultural dimension, which creates the historical context of its origin and development, as well as the way of perceiving its values and functioning by its contemporaries. The analysis of terminological inconsistencies and the evaluation of the implementation of the issue of the historical cultural landscape into the legal order of the Slovak Republic will be the first of the objectives. The methodology of identification of the historical cultural landscape in the typologically different model territories of Slovakia will follow. The main aim will be the elaboration of a methodology for assessing the natural and socio-cultural diversity of the historical cultural landscape, its comparison with the contemporary cultural landscape, determining the degree of its transformation and sketching the possibilities of its protection.

Kanály - Nové možnosti využitia odvodňovacích kanálových sústav s ohľadom na ochranu a využívanie krajiny
New possibilities of use of drainage canal systems with taking into account the protection and use of a landscape
Program: SRDA
Project leader: Mgr. Kalivoda Henrik, PhD.
Annotation: Drainage canal system, as artificial multifunctional anthropogenic elements in a landscape have other specificfunctions which were not paid attention yet. The reason of construction of those canal systems was theintensification of agricultural production and discharge of inland waters. Their construction characters areanalogical to a stream. These characters must be re-evaluated from the point of their functional use under realconditions of an area.Due to the change of agricultural policy, further construction and maintenance practically does not exist and thelifetime of connected technical segments is getting to the end. Secondary drainage canals are graduallyovergrown, wood vegetation develops and canals stop fulfilling their main function. Similar situation appears incase of main canals, moreover, their use is bound to capacity of pumping stations. Primary and secondarydrainage canals are important connective landscape elements and serve also as a refugium, or biocentre forseveral kinds of organisms. There appear significant successive processes in the canal network. Based on reevaluationof present state of drainage canals there will be elaborated a proposal of measures of their primaryfunctions and proposal of their multifunctional use. New possibilities of use of drainage canals are important fromthe point of view of protection and use of the landscape, namely the development and stability of biodiversity.

Ecological optimization of the utilization of landslide areas in selected parts of the flysch zone in regard to the traditional farming
Program: VEGA
Project leader: RNDr. Barančoková Mária, PhD.
Annotation: The occurrence of landslides in the flysch zone of the Western Carpathians has conditioned the utilization of landscape from the beginning of the settlement. Places that have not been affected by the construction processeswere used according to the needs of the agricultural population. Each intervention had an impact on thedevelopment of coenosis thereby creating specific habitats with high variability. This was so not only because ofnatural specificities of individual localities, but also due to diversity of management habits and skills in dispersed settlements (called "kopanice"). Slope deformations represent geofactor, which significantly affects the quality of the environment. The project aims to develop a methodology of assessment of landslide areas in flysch environment and their use in traditional farming, the application of this methodology in selected areas and suggestions for ecological optimization of utilization.

Analysis of temporal-spatial dynamics of the selected cultural landscape structures in Slovakia, their protection and sustainable use
Program: VEGA
Project leader: Ing. Štefunková Dagmar, PhD.
Annotation: Content and interpretation of the cultural landscape concept are ambiguous. This fact has negative impact on practical landscape management and protection, territorial planning, legal order and public dministration. An overview of the state-of-the-art of cultural landscape studies in literature, specification of theoretical and themethodological basis for the needs of the project is the first objective. The following step is the assessment of the processes, which cause changes in structures of cultural landscape on various hierarchic levels: local, microregional and regional. Studies of structure of cultural landscape and its changes (natural, socio-economic, cultural and historical characteristics) specific methodological procedures are applied on each level. Then the trends of changes are assessed, framework principles and rules of protection and sustainable management of cultural landscape taking into account the concept of sustainability are established.

Diversity of agricultural landscape and its ecosystem services
Program: VEGA
Project leader: Ing. Špulerová Jana, PhD.
Annotation: The project was focused on the evaluation of diversity of agricultural landscape and its ecosystem services in different types of representative landscapes of Slovakia. Attention was paid to extensively cultivated farmland and traditional agricultural landscapes, which are characterized by higher diversity of landscape pattern and by the presence of semi natural habitats that significantly contribute to the provision of ecological functions in thelandscape and provide multifunctional ecosystem services to society. The most important results of the project are contained in two publication: the article of Lieskovsky et al. (2015) devoted to changes in landscape diversity and abandonment, and a monograph dedicated to the traditional agricultural landscape (TAL) (Špulerová et al., 2017). The monograph present diversity of TAL in Slovakia as a type of agricultural landscape with high landscape diversity. The second part of the monograph points to the importance of the ecosystem services assessment and benefits of these diversified landscape structures that provide to society. Result shows, that TAL provide more ecosystem services by their diversified patterns. The study of Lieskovský et al. is highly cited (22 WOS citation) and was aimed to analyse the driving forces behind the accelerated abandonment of traditional agricultural landscapes. The study showed that abandonment occurs most intensively on steep slopes and on less fertile soils. The distance from settlements and the financial profit are the other drivers of abandonment.References:LIESKOVSKÝ, Juraj - BEZÁK, Peter - ŠPULEROVÁ, Jana - LIESKOVSKÝ, Tibor - KOLEDA, Peter - DOBROVODSKÁ, Marta - BÜRGI, Matthias - GIMMI, Urs. The ecological model of tourism development based on assessment of localization and realization assumptions of landscape with use of GIS tolls and quantitation methods
Program: VEGA
Project leader: RNDr. Krnáčová Zdena, PhD.
Annotation: Tourism development is determined by many factors. Localizational assumptions of natural and anthropogenic sphere, i.e. cultural-historical assumptions, are the most significant factors which are an object of this project. Realization factors, which include tourism infrastructure, represent indispensable development factors. Together, they compose spatial functional-chorological landscape units which are usually related to microregion or region. Functional-chorological approach to assessment of tourism assumptions enables more apposite arrangement of territorial model of tourism. Thus, it creates complex view on system of relations between tourism and landscape, and is methodical base for creation of ecological models of tourism development. Ecological approach consists inselection and application of procedures aimed at assessment of assumptions for development but also in proposal of suitable forms and activities of tourism for selected naturally, culturally and historically valuablelandscape segments.

The unique islands of species-rich plant and animal communities are represented by historicalstructures of agricultural landscape (HSAL), that play an important role in water retention and the prevention of soil erosion – both important with respect to climatic changes. Many ecosystem services and function are provided by these ecosystems, which bring benefits for society. They have irreplaceable ecological, cultural andhistorical value.Due to deficient ecosystem valuation as well as scarce scientific data documenting significance and services of these habitats in agrarian landscape, decline or even irreversible loss of biodiversity linked to such specificbiotopes will be the result. Functioning of lowland forest ecosystem under pressure of global environmental changes - the Báb Research Site
Program: VEGA
Project leader: RNDr. Gajdoš Peter, CSc.
Annotation: Recent assumptions of potential consequences of climate change and other environmental changes stimulated numerous research activities studying its impact on ecosystems. From this point of view, a renewed interest in detailed knowledge of ecosystem functioning in new environmental conditions arose. Detailed spatio-temporalanalyses of selected forest ecosystem components may significantly contribute to understanding of the forest ecosystem dynamics and shaping of its structure and to evaluation of its response to potential shifts in climate and in other environmental pressures. Forest management represents one of the basic factors that conditions the actual status and the development of a forest ecosystem therefore it must be taken into account within the long-term ecosystem research. In the proposed project we aim to contribute to the knowledge on spatio-temporal dynamics of selected components of the forest ecosystem in the conditions of the Báb forest, taking into accountthe actual forest management.

Annotation: The aim of the project is to elaborate the existing and new methodological procedures of selected appropriate/functional landscape features on the basis of interpretation of abiotic, biotic and socio-economic indices. Purposeful landscape features give information about he conditions and mood of land use, possible reactions of the landscape on external impulses or sensitivity of the landscape on the changes caused by human activities etc. Some areas react to environmental changes more sensitively while primary landscape features gain different character. A component of the project is the verification of interpretational procedure of creation of purposeful landscape features in selected model areas in agricultural, urbanized and forest/recreational landscape or in the whole area of Slovakia. Appropriate features can express the measure of functioning of natural processes in the landscape, degree of landscape changes etc. The process of landscape-ecological interpretation is a significant criterion in the decision-making processes applied in the proposal of ecological landscape use.

Vplyv experimentálne zvýšenej teploty a zvýšenej depozície dusíka na zraniteľné ekosystémy alpínskych lúk
Effect of experimental warming and nitrogen deposition on sensitive alpine meadow ecosystem
Program: VEGA
Project leader: Mgr. Halabuk Andrej, PhD.
Annotation: In the proposed project, we focus on the effect of warming and nitrogen (N) deposition on carbon (C)sequestration, vegetation and N leaching in the model ecosystem of alpine meadows that are very sensitive tomentioned global change. Warming can exert a complex effect on microbial activity, nutrient availability and netecosystem production (NEP). Increased N deposition can further contribute to a complex interaction amongecosystem processes leading to many discrepancies in ecosystem responses and uncertain contribution to Csequestration. We would like to enrich the knowledge of warming and N deposition effects on key components ofNEP including net primary production, litter decomposition rates, soil respiration, N mineralization, N availability, plant N uptake as well as individual plant species response and impact on vegetation structure. The studiedeffects will be simulated using open top chambers and N fertilization in the field conditions.

Zmeny krajiny Biosférickej rezervácie Tatry za posledných 200 rokov v kontexte vývoja spoločensko-ekonomických a prírodných podmienok
Landscape changes of the Biosphere Reserve Tatra in recent 200 years in relation to changing natural and socio-economical conditions
Program: SRDA
Project leader: Ing. Oszlányi Július, CSc.
Annotation: The project deals with problems on changes in landscape utilisation in the area of the Biosphere reserve Tatra within the last 200 years. On the purpose of change evaluations a set of historical maps and aerial photographs from 1769, 1822, 1900, 956, 1988, 2002 and 2006 will be used. Digital thematic maps of land cover/use changes and spatial-statistical information on types of changes will be derived. Main social-economical and environmental drives of these changes will be defined. Special respect will be put on the occurence of windstorm disasters and their effect on land utilisation within the study area. Changes in large-scale were evaluated in two model areas (Belianske Tatry Mts., Spálenisko pod Slavkovským štítom) in time horizon 1949-2003 by use of methodological tool of large-scale multi-temporal analyses based on obtaining information about landscape object changes by application of aerial orthophotographs. Dynamic of changes in landscape pattern will be analysed using landscape-ecological indices. Prognoses and models potential development based on different scenarios will be developed by means of geostatistical methods. A separate part of the research is an analysis of influence of natural phenomena on landscape structure changes in high-mountain conditions of Tatra Mts. Among them are those of short but strong morpho-dynamic disturbances, e.g.: snow avalanches and debris flows. In this project, we also interpret results of an observation considering the relationship between vegetation of land mantlerocks and intensity of morphodynamic processes from permanent plot in the territory of Belianske Tatry Mts. In 2009 the results have been published in scientific journals, education books and 2 monographs.
