Development of IT – based united environmental monitoring system in the catchment area of Ipoly river - HUSK/0801/2.1.2/0162

Hungary-Slovakia cross-border co-operation programe 2007-2013, Action 2.1.1 Joint actions to encourage the protection of the natural environment (Waste, waste management and renewable energy), especially the projects oriented towards watersheds of border rivers.

Leader partner: Közép-Duna-Völgyi Környezetvédelmi, Természetvédelmi és Vízügyi felügyelőség, Budapest

Partners: Technical University in Zvolen, Institute of Landscape Ecology SAS, Bratislava, Cholnoky Jenő Környezetgazdálkodási Dokumentációs és Kutatási Központ Kht., Budapest

The project’s main objective:

It is the environmental and nature conservational interests to ensure the geospatial database and decision support system, which is consistent with the authorities of both countries to ensure the harmonization of the official decisions.

Analysis: Collection of the river basin and the environmental characteristics of the basic structure;

Interpretation: The basic characteristics of goal-oriented re-evaluation of river basin environment;

Proposition: Prognosis of the Ipoly Valley natural values and sustainable landscape use.

The main activities of the projects were focused on partnership building, gaining, processing, harmonization of methodology and data, creation of cartographical basis, data and map outputs. Partnership creation was realized mainly by working meetings on the territory of Slovakia and Hungary. At these meetings there were solved working processes and methodological approaches by gaining and processing of abiotical, biotical and socio-economical data. Institute of Landscape Ecology was the main organizer of the project conference in Dudince 22.-24. September 2010. There were presented the results of all the project partners. There took place also successful discussions and preparations of further cooperation among partners in the field of science and research. A file of georeferenced outputs was processed and prepared for abiotical, biotical and socio-economical GIS layers. All the GIS layers were processed, adapted for the needs of the main project output – the map atlas with the title: „Landscape-ecological basis of integrated management of the basin Ipoly“.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
